BEIJING, May 24 (AFP) - China has sentenced two people to death with a two-year reprieve for poaching 176 state-protected Tibetan antelopes, state media said Saturday.

The two defendants were also fined 6,000 yuan (723 US dollars) for carrying out the crime in Nagqu district in Tibet, the People's Court Daily said.

The sentences are generally reduced to life imprisonment on good behavior.
