The completion of the first two phases of the "Tibet-Xinjiang project" has greatly enhanced radio and TV coverage in western areas of China, Xinhua news agency has reported. During an inspection tour of the project, Chinese President Jiang Zemin emphasized its importance in promoting economic development, social progress, national unity and social stability in the region.
